AWELO

Programs

Four pillars of support.

Poverty touches every part of a woman’s life at once. AWELO works across education, nutrition, water, and health, because lasting change requires all four.

01

Learning that opens every door

Education is the foundation of everything AWELO does. We uphold high academic standards paired with real technology skills, so students are prepared for a modern world rather than left behind by it. Our free scholarship program removes cost as a barrier for girls who would otherwise never see a classroom, and our vocational training program builds practical, income-earning skills for older students and women. Art and music run alongside the core curriculum, giving students room to express themselves and grow in confidence. Together these create a generation of resilient, capable women leaders.

Education

02

Healthy Food

A hungry child cannot learn. Through our kitchen and food program, AWELO provides breakfast and lunch so that students arrive ready to focus and stay nourished through the day. Reliable, healthy meals do more than fill stomachs. They keep attendance high, support healthy growth, and lift a burden from families struggling to provide. Good nutrition is one of the simplest, most direct ways we turn opportunity into real academic progress.

Health

03

Clean water, healthier futures

Clean water is where health and education meet. When students have safe drinking water at school, illness drops, attendance rises, and girls in particular are freed from the long daily walks to collect water that so often pull them out of the classroom. Globally, billions still lack safely managed drinking water and sanitation, and the women and girls AWELO serves are among them. Securing reliable, clean water is a first, essential step toward every other goal we pursue.

04

Care for the whole student

Health is central to a child's ability to learn and a woman's ability to build a future. AWELO supports the whole student, not only through access to medical care, but through physical fitness that builds strength and habits for life, and emotional support that helps students carry what they've lived through. Our work is strengthened by family and volunteer involvement, keeping care rooted in the community rather than apart from it. When women and girls are healthy in body and mind, every other kind of progress becomes possible.
